We aim to provide a software platform to suggest and match potential helpers from social network and recommend them to the elderly care organizations involved.
HINCare is a project under The "Social Technology and Research Laboratory” (STAR Lab)
The HINCare platform performs automatic matching to recommend helpers whose skills fit the elderly needs better and faster.
The HINCare project involves cross-disciplinary expertise and participation. Joint efforts of academics from Computer Science, Social Work and management staff from NGOs providing elderly care services are involved in the project.
Timebank is an application which allows the elderly to store time credits in a special bank account. For this, Timebank users and volunteers have to be matched. HINCare makes this matching procedure more intelligent by using a Heterogeneous Information Network (HIN).
